Application of Qmagnets should be made anterior to the lateral malleolus and posterior to the medial malleolus as shown
Physiologically: The steep field gradient generated by the Quadrapolar magnetic array closes leaking ion gates at the nerve cell membrane and returns abnormally firing nerves to a resting state. Therefore the centre of the Qmagnet needs to be placed over the irritated nerve (i.e. Superficial Peroneal or Tibial nerves) or innervated structure (Posterior tibialus tendon) to maximize its physiological and clinical effects.
