Qmagnet Prescription for jaw pain:
Qmagnet devices can be effective in treating temperomandibular joint (TMJ) pain. The devices should be worn at night, attached with double-stick adhesives and /or tape.
Physiologically: The steep field gradient generated by the Quadrapolar magnetic array closes leaking ion gates at the nerve cell membrane and returns abnormally firing nerves to a resting state. Therefore the centre of the Qmagnet needs to be placed over the irritated nerve (i.e. Trigeminal or Facial nerve) / innervated structure to maximize its physiological and clinical effects.
